Helpful Hint: South Forsyth High School is one of a select group of schools in the world to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma. To learn more about this elite academic program visit www.ibo.org The IB progam at South Forsyth is open to all students in the county. However, parents provide transportation when they live outside the South Forsyth district.

Helpful Hint: This is the most current set of standardized information for Georgia. These formats are a bit harder to use than the GPPF format below that is for the 2004-2005 school year. However, because several Forsyth County schools have made dramatic improvements in their scores you will want to check these scorecards as well.

HOPE Scholarship : HOPE - Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally - is Georgia`s unique scholarship program that rewards students with financial assistance in degree, diploma, and certificate programs at eligible Georgia public and private colleges and universities, and public technical colleges.

Atlanta Colleges & Universities
There are a wealth of colleges located in Atlanta, including the world renowned Emory, Georgia Tech and Morehouse.
The University System of Georgia has several campuses within an easy drive from Forsyth County.
These three colleges are located very close to Cumming
- Lanier Technical College – is located just south of the city of Cumming in unincorporated Forsyth County
- University of Phoenix - The Atlanta campus is located about 9 miles southwest of Cumming
- Reinhardt College is located about 12 miles southwest of Cumming
- Gwinnett Technical College is well respected and an easy drive from Forsyth County.
Hospitals & Medical Centers

- Emory : Very Nearby – Opens January 2007!
Helpful Hint: Cumming addresses cover a large area. It’s possible this hospital will be the closest to your new home.
Libraries
Forsyth`s has two public libraries, another under construction and property for two others. The library is a lot more than books! With free internet access in the library, on-line services that can be accessed fro home, many kinds of electronic media and programs for all ages, the library offers something for everyone.

One down side to this site: You can’t see all representatives and senators for the county (to the state government) or for the state (to the federal government). Employment
The average individual and household incomes for Forsyth County residents are above the Georgia and national averages. Many individuals work outside the county, commuting to locations throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area.
There is a high concentration of technology and engineering positions in northern Fulton county. You`ll find many of these available positions on www.monster.com. Other positions tend to be on www.careerbuilders.com. The Atlanta Journal Constitution website, www.ajc.com also has local job listings.

Where to Find
MapQuest is a very good source of information about area businesses, government offices, places of worship, etc. Just about anything you are interested in can be found by selecting a category and entering “Cumming” with “GA”.

Helpful Hint: Often people are moving to Cumming to start a new job. Coworkers are a great way to find doctors, dentists, day-care, etc.
Helpful Hint: Most communities in Forsyth County have play groups, Bunko clubs, tennis leagues and other activities. If you are purchasing a home, have your REALTOR® or closing attorney provide you with a home owners’ association contact. If you are renting, ask your property manager what is available.
